About me
Hi there, let me tell you a bit more about me. I’ve been playing blues guitar for over 35 years. I always had a soft spot for blues, just loved it since my youth. Played in some bands, did some workshops but also just played at home because I liked it so much. The guitar is the friend who is always home I once said.
In 2017 I discovered backingtracks on YouTube and that was great! I always liked soloing and to record a tune it didn’t take up that much time. I could finish a song in an evening if things went smoothly which was great! I had a ton of fun with it and started sharing things on social media so other people could enjoy my music as well. I even met my current wife this way so you never know where things can lead to!
Because I started to share things online I wanted to record things properly. I started with Cool Edit which became Audition later. After 10 years or so it was time for a more serious DAW and I picked Cubase. It’s been around for ages so it is really mature and I enjoy it a lot.
Now I teach practical, expressive playing, with a minimum on theory. Whether you’re just starting out or trying to break through a plateau, I can help you get to the next level with solid rhythm, soulful solos, and smart studio habits.
Curious how I play?
Fool For Your Stockins by ZZ Top. I don’t know what got into me because I am nor much of a singer but I even did the vocals here. The rhythm on the stratocaster and the lead on the Harley Benton TV Yellow P90’s guitar
Vintage Soul track. Loved the mood and had a go at it. Dynamics is key in the track, from easy going to loud and back again! I included Now You Shred’s Alphajams visuals so you can see the chords beiing played and the possible scales. Alphajams is highly recommended!
A cute jazzy tune from Tom Bailey. When I just started playing backingtracks in 2017 I played a lot of Tom’s tracks. We became good friends and I even met my current wife through his music!

Bas makes learning simple. Not just learning but how to hit the right notes without thinking. Easy ways to navigate without a bunch theory. I have found that Baas increased my ability to play with others and not get lost. Even the people I play with often notice the difference. Thanks Bas for the great lessons and making guitar fun and easy !!
Bas is an outstanding blues guitar instructor — knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly effective. His lessons are concise, affordable, and perfectly tailored to my level. He’s helped me make real progress with fundamentals like chord structure, timing, and especially landing notes and dynamics. I’ve advanced farther with Bas than with any other blues guitar instructor I’ve worked with.
If you’re looking for online blues guitar lessons that are fun and help you make quick progress, feel free to get in touch. My lessons focus on phrasing, vibrato, and musical expression so you can sound more like a real blues player instead of just running scales.
A unique feature of my teaching is a visual guidance system. Every note I play appears on screen in real time, which makes online learning much clearer and easier to follow.
